Semi Finals State Cup May 19th at HCCC game starts at 11am

"RSSC Blasters vs NY Rush Patriots 95"

* Qtr Final State Cup Update*

Blasters win 3-1 over Massapequa. First thanks to all the moms who decided to spend their Mothers Day in the car for a total of 9 hours just to come out and support the team and their daughters. The girls didn't disappoint as the played a great all around game. Defensively we where solid and a great job by both keepers as well. Our defense got out and help set up the attack which helped lead to several scoring chances. The forwards and mids had plenty of shots on or around the goal and we could have been several more goals scored. The team has displayed great passing and ball movement which has led to a bunch of shots on goal. We got a dominant game out of Ashley Williams with a hat trick including one of the better goals we have seen with a throw in played to her which she played off her knww up in the air the spun and kicked a bullet past the keeper. We know we have a tough task in the semi finals against the NY Rush Patriots 95 one of the top teams in the State. With the home crowd and support we are expecting it to be an exciting game. The girls have played great with several mid fielders stepping in on defense. With three starters not able to play (two of them since the first game) the team has not missed a beat as we continue to play for the State Cup.

Premier League Updates:

* 5/6/12 What a busy day for the Blasters. On a beautiful warm sunny day the Blasters host a double header for their Premier League games at Hamilton College. First game was against Massapequa which happens to be next weeks State Cup match. Massapequa played a strong first half and dominated possesion and could have been up by a couple of goals. But with great keeper play we where able to hold of or stop most of the shots taken. After making adjustments at halftime the Blasters come out on fire and controlled the second half and ended up winning 5-2. The Blasters would then take one Poughkeepsie with only a 15 minute break between their two games. The girls started off hot and got out to a quick 4-1 lead and while exhausted they held on in the second half to win 5-2. Goals on the day scored by Ashley(3), Erin (1), Mariah(1), Emily(2), Stacey(1), Ashley O(1), and Ellie(1). After the first half of game 1 the Blasters defense and keeper play where great. Awesome job by all especially mids stepping up playing defense for the injured players.

*State Cup Round 2
Blasters win round 2 of State Cup 4-0 now will travel to play Massapequa on May 13th. The Blasters controlled the game against Valley Stream and got goals from Ashley, Hannah, Adela, and Erin.  Great all around game with plenty of missed scoring chances for the Blasters. Check back for more info soon.

* April 15, 2012 Blasters host Manhattan Pride for a Premier League game played at Hamilton College Love Field. The Blasters win with a score of 7-2 goals scored by Erin O, Ashley W, Mariah W, and Ellie B. It was a well played game by the Blasters after many of the girls returning from a long Spring Break. The defense was strong holding off several attack from Manhattan. The girls look to sharpen up their skills heading into this weekends State Cup game Sunday April 22 1pm at HCCC against Valley Stream.

*Update - STATE CUP Round One!
The Blasters travel to Kingston to play round one of the State Cup. Kingston Warriors were great host for the game. The team arrived to a field covered in snow, the lines where cleared off and shortly after, the snow started to melt. Once the game was under way the Blasters had a few scoring chances just missing wide, the Warriors where pumped up for the game and quickly counter attacked. The teams went into half time 0-0. After making some adjustments the Blasters quickly find their groove and score in the first minute of the second half and three goals in the first ten minutes. Several shots by mids and forwards kept the pressure on the Warriors end of the field. The team went on to win 6-0 with great ball movement, solid defense and great finishes by Ashley Williams, Mariah Williams, and Michaela Soules. Great game played by all. Round two April 21 or 22 location tbd. For pics click here.

* Blasters Accepted to play Memorial Weekend in Mass. in the MPS Needham College Showcase. More information to follow.

* Blasters win game one of Premier League 6-2 over Massapequa Rowdies.

*The Blasters get two in after Saturdays games where canceled due to snow in Lancaster Mass. The snow stopped Saturday morning and the fields where good to go Sunday. The Blasters win game one 1-0, it was an ugly game with the girls not looking like themselves. They played better in game two winning 2-0 but having several scoring chances. All in all not to bad for not playing on a big field since November. Off to Long Island for the start of the Premier League this Saturday 3/10/12.
