Tournament Information:

"Blasters are Champs again in Fairport NY Soccer Tournament"

The Blasters win U15/U16G bracket in the 16th Annual Fairport Soccer Tournament. The Blasters had 3 wins 1 loss and 0 ties scoring 20 goals for and giving up 5. The girls made easy work out of the two U16 teams they faced scoring a combined 15 goals in those two games and giving up 0. Then on Saturday they met a strong, fast and determined opponent in Fairport Galaxy.  Playing on Saturday the Blasters found themselves down 3-0 to the Galaxy and could have easily quit but instead they fought back and tied it up in the second half however they still found themselves coming up short losing 5-4. With several players not able to make the tournament it allowed alot of our younger players to step up and show what they can bring to the game and step up did they ever. #2 B. Gluck, #5 M. Williams, #19 J. Hughes took full advantage of the oppourtunity giving alot of minutes and playing some great games. The girls would get a chance to play Fairport again and in a tough match the Blasters defense shut them down while only scoring one goal. Winning the game 1-0 on a great goal by #1 H. Shankman assisted by #18 J. Deuel. After Shankman's goal the Blasters packed in on defense and did a great job denying the attack from the Galaxy. The Blasters show how important it is to have a great defense. Great games girls.
